Cool features of Oblivion IRC Network

We have a very intelligent method of nick registration. To you, it seems simple though! All you have to do is " /msg nickop@oblivionirc.net register <pass> <email> " and then you will get a URL to go to to verify your registration. This URL is here to stop botnets and flooders registering hundreds of nicknames at any one time.

We on OblivionIRC believe users should not be locked down to registering only ONE (1) channel. So, we have set a limit to three (3). One nickname (includes all linked nicknames) can register up to 3 channels. What other network will allow that! NO-ONE!

We have a VERY unique ChanOP services. We have SOP (Super OP), AOP (Auto OP) and VOP (Voice OP). We have a special FLAGS system. All three have different flags. SOP users can change users 'flags' to allow a user to either Auto OP/Voice and even set normal users to allow to kick/ban users without giving them OP/VOICE status. You can set certain users to change flags and change alot of options! How cool is that? Check the ChanOP help website under services for more info.

We allow four (4) connections on any IP. Not 2 or 3 like most servers. And we will not question why you run so many. Need a trigger? Just ask in #Help and an Oper/Helper will be more then happy to help. All you need is a valid reason. Triggers are NOT hard to request!

We have a sophisticated way of channel registration. All channels that are VACANT are closed to the public. This will stop all botnets, floodbots, etc joining channels. To join a vacant channel, you must REGISTER your nickname first. Then you can join a channel and register it. This will allow us to keep track of everything and everyone and prevent the bad people from doing bad htings without us knowing about it. If we know about it, we will do everythign in our powers to act on it and prevent our good users from knowing about it. Just like the Secret Service! :)

To join a vacant channel you can register it by " /msg ChanOP Register #channel " then ChanOP will join the channel and you will then be able to join it with your friends.

We have a Web Interface, where it will interact with the IRC. You can change anything via the Web Interface that you can via the IRC interface. They will be linked together. Each user will have access to many features, such as blogs, pictures, personal sections and much much more. Click on Login To Portallink above to log in and experiance IRC at a new level. We have an Abuse system. Ever go to one of those channels where operators and/or users just sit there and abuse their rights? Power hungry operators for example? Or know of a user who is a constant abuser? We have ZERO TOLARENCE for these users and will permanently remove them from our network. Join #Abuse or email abuse@oblivionirc.net and explain your situation to us and we will put it under review. Lamers and Abusers are NOT WELCOME on the Oblivion IRC Network.

Hate it when you are on a split server? Then you come back and you get killed or k-lined for duplicate nicknames? Fear no more. On Oblivion IRCDs we have made it so your nickname just gets changed, so you can decide which of your connections you wish to keep online. The newest connection just has their nickname changed to a random string till you decide to change or disconnect it. No more rejoining everything! Quick and simple.

We have renovated our unbaning! Never remember that host you banned or why a certain is not banned but the user still cannot join the channel? Or you just cannot be bothered finding out the host of the user. We have an easy way to deal with this issue. Just `unban nickname. It is just that simple! Never memorise hosts again. Just unban the users nickname to clear them from bans.
